 Daylight Capital Solutions was founded in 2020 by H. Shields Day, Jr., CFA.    

After spending 25 years in finance serving as a CFO, advisor, investor, and board member for small-to-mid sized  businesses, he started Daylight Capital Solutions to work with entrepreneurs and owners looking to bring their businesses to the next level.  He has worked with companies in every sector of the economy, raised millions in debt and equity capital, funded and advised on hundreds of M&A transactions, and assisted with the restructuring and recapitalization of countless small businesses.   

Starting in the early 1990s, he worked for JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs in their leveraged finance and equities divisions. In 2007 he joined Regiment Capital Advisors, a credit hedge fund that was spun out of the Harvard University Endowment Fund. Following his role there, he spent seven years as the Treasurer of Loon Freestyle, Inc., where he took over the finance role and rescued a business that was in default to the IRS and two state agencies while dramatically improving profitability.  

He serves as the fractional CFO of WellPrept and Neurovascular R&D, both early stage software companies in the healthcare space; he previously served as fractional CFO to CRIO and a Board Member, Chair of the Capital Raise Committee, and CFO for Targatek, Inc., a SaaS company focused on the Future of Work.  He is an active member of Launchpad Venture Group, a Boston-area angel investing group focused primarily on high tech, life sciences and green initiatives and serves as a mentor, judge and ambassador for MassChallenge and the New England Innovation Network.  

Shields received his MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business in 1995 and his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1999.
